Crypto Gaming Security: 10 Best Practices

Why this matters

Crypto security is not optional. Every week, users lose funds to scams, phishing, and wallet compromises. At GamesP2P, we do not have access to your wallet (you play with your own non-custodial wallet), which means security is YOUR responsibility. These 10 rules are the minimum baseline.

Rules 1-5: wallet protection

(1) Use a non-custodial wallet (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Rabby). Never use a wallet where the platform holds your keys. (2) Save your seed phrase offline, on paper, never in the cloud. (3) Never share your seed phrase with anyone, including "support". (4) Use a dedicated wallet for gaming, separate from your savings wallet. (5) Use hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor) for amounts above 1000 USDT.

• 1. Usa MetaMask o una wallet no-custodial. Nunca uses una wallet que "custodia" tus claves por ti (cefi). Si no controlas las claves, no controlas los fondos.
• 2. Guarda tu seed phrase (12-24 palabras) en papel, offline, en una ubicación física segura. NUNCA la guardes en el navegador, en la nube, ni en screenshots.
• 3. Nunca compartas tu seed phrase con nadie. Ningún miembro del equipo de GamesP2P, ningún "soporte técnico", nadie legitimo te la pedirá. Si te la piden, es estafa.
• 4. Usa wallets separadas para distintas actividades. Una wallet para gaming (con saldo diario), otra para savings (con la mayoría de tus fondos). Esto limita la exposición.
• 5. Habilita 2FA en todos los servicios relacionados (email asociado, exchanges, etc.). El 2FA por app (Google Authenticator, Authy) es más seguro que por SMS.

Rules 6-8: secure transactions

(6) Always verify the destination address before sending. Scammers replace addresses in clipboard. (7) Send a small test transaction first for large amounts. (8) Verify the chain (BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum) before sending — funds sent on the wrong chain are lost.

• 6. Verifica siempre la dirección de destino. Los atacantes usan malware que reemplaza direcciones copiadas por direcciones de atacante. Pega, compara los primeros y últimos 6 caracteres, y confirma.
• 7. Desconfía de contratos inteligentes desconocidos. Antes de aprobar un contrato (approve), verifica en exploradores (BscScan, PolygonScan) cuántas veces ha sido usado y si tiene auditoría.
• 8. Usa small test transactions. Si retiras a una dirección nueva por primera vez, envía $1 primero, verifica que llega, luego envía el resto. Costoso en fees pero preventivo.

Rules 9-10: phishing and social engineering

(9) Never click links in unsolicited messages (Discord, Telegram, email). Always navigate to gamesp2p.com manually. (10) Verify admin identities — GamesP2P admins will never ask for your seed phrase, password, or private keys. Anyone who does is a scammer.

• 9. Verifica URLs siempre. "gamesp2p.com" es correcto. "gamesp2p.io", "games-p2p.com", "gamesp2p-secure.com" son phishing. Marca el sitio oficial en tu navegador.
• 10. Desconfía de "demasiado bueno para ser verdad". Airdrops gratis, "duplicamos tu USDT", "ganaste un torneo al que no te inscribiste" — todos son scams. GamesP2P NUNCA te pedirá enviar fondos para "verificar" o "desbloquear".

Warning signs

Red flags: any message that creates urgency ("act now or lose your funds"), any offer that sounds too good ("free 100 USDT"), any request for your seed phrase or private keys, any link to a "support" site that is not gamesp2p.com. When in doubt, do not act — verify directly with official GamesP2P channels.

• Un sitio te pide tu seed phrase — ningún sitio legítimo la pide.
• Una transacción requiere "approve" por más de lo que quieres depositar — verifica el contrato.
• Recibes un DM de "soporte GamesP2P" — el soporte real nunca contacta por DM primero.

What to do if you get scammed

If you suspect a scam: (1) Immediately move remaining funds to a new wallet with a new seed phrase. (2) Document everything (screenshots, transaction hashes, message URLs). (3) Report to GamesP2P support (so we can warn other Competidores). (4) Report to the relevant chain communities. Unfortunately, crypto transactions are irreversible — prevention is the only effective defense.
